Application Protocol for the OWPF Board of Directors

Mission
The Women in Public Finance’s mission is to support and advance the careers of women in public finance by fostering relationships and networking, and providing educational and learning activities and forums. More information can be found at www.wpfc.com.

Process
Nominations to the Board of Directors (the Board) will be considered complete if:

  • An application with a current resume is completed and submitted electronically; and
  • Both of the application and resume are to be submitted to Ohio Women in Public Finance, via email to Rhonda Bever at Rhonda.Bever@portofcleveland.com, with the subject line “Board of Directors Application”, by 5pm EST on October 31, 2019.
  • Applicants may self-nominate or a third party may nominate on behalf of another individual if advance permission is given. Please indicate if you are nominating on behalf of another individual when submitting the application.

The Board year for OWPF is January 1st to December 31st. All Board members agree to serve an initial one-year term, followed by a three-year term unless otherwise stated.

Qualifications and Board Composition

Emphasis will be placed on the following when determining Board composition:

  1. Candidate(s) must be a resident of the State of Ohio;
  2. Candidate(s) should have a demonstrated role in the public finance industry.

Board Member Expectations

Each volunteer Board member is expected to:

  • Minimum of 75% participation in all Board related activities including meetings, teleconferences, etc.;
  • Actively serve on one committee;
  • Commit to preparation for all meetings by reading advance materials;
  • Serve as an ambassador for OWPF;
  • Recruit membership; and
  • Support fundraising.
